VOICE ISSUES

Voice symptoms can include hoarseness, fatigue, pain, or other changes to the pitch, quality or projection of the speaking or singing voice. This can have dramatic effects on simple daily interactions and employment.

Your ENT surgeon is experienced in the care of and assessment of voice. This will involve a detailed history and examination including a variety of vocal tasks, and an awake endoscopy and stroboscopy in the office to view the vocal cords and their movement. Common conditions that may be identified include:

  • Vocal nodules
  • cysts, polyps and granulomas
  • vocal cord palsy
  • age related changes
  • reflux laryngitis
  • benign or malignant tumours
