Surgery for a Saccular Cyst in Larynx

Patients often present with throat symptoms, including irritation, pain or a tickle. A thorough assessment is crucial, centred on endoscopy of the throat (pharynx & larynx).

This 70 year old female presented with intermittent difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath & an irritation in the throat. Endoscopic examination confirmed the presence of a large supraglottic lesion, referred to as a saccular cyst.

Urgent microlaryngeal surgery was performed under general anaesthesia, and the patient has reported a complete cure of her symptoms.
